COFCO, one of China’s largest food companies, has appointed Aegis Media China as its strategic media partner. The agency takes the business over from the company’s earlier media buying partner Mediacom. According to CTR China, the annual media spend in this account is expected to be nearly CNY 850million.
On bagging this business KF Lee, CEO of Aegis Media Greater China said, “We are very proud to have been selected by COFCO as their media partner in China. This win reflects Aegis Media’s unique ability to deliver convergent media solutions, and we are excited about developing a solid and accountable relationship with COFCO in the future.” The remit of the contract includes media buying in non-CCTV TV part, radios, prints, outdoors and digital.
The relationship will be managed and coordinated through Aegis Media China’s investment team. Lisa Wei, chief investment officer of Aegis Media China who was the lead of the pitch team added, “We are thrilled with this appointment and positive with the future results that we will be able to deliver for the client.”
